The Toyota Corolla, which received refreshed styling and numerous enhancements for 2011, enters the 2012 model year with upgrades to the feature content for the base L model and a new standard audio system for the LE and S grade models.
Filed under: Toyota Toyota announced pricing for several 2012 models, and while many MSRPs will rise, so will the number of standard features. The most notable price announcement is for the all-new 2012 Yaris , which will start at $14,115 (plus $760 in delivery costs) in three-door guise. That’s $950 more than the 2011 model, but Toyota points out that the base 2012 Yaris will come equipped with about $1,000 more equipment than the base 2011 model. The five-door SE model with a four-speed automatic transmission will top off the Yaris lineup at $17,200, up only $100 compared to the 2011 model. The SE five-door can also be had with a five-speed manual transmission for $16,400. Most Sequoia models are unchanged compared to 2011 pricing, with the entry trim level starting at $40,930 (plus $985 for shipping) and reaching all the way to $61,305. The only trim to receive a price increase is the Platinum model, which goes up $500. The 2012 Tundra does get a price bump across the entire lineup, which increases ranging from $340 to $390, depending on the trim level. The entry Tundra stickers for $27,115 (plus $985 for shipping) and the 4×4 CrewMax Limited starts at $43,345. The Sienna , which was all-new for the 2011 model year, also gets fresh pricing.

The subcompact hatch – likely identical to the 2012 Yaris arriving in the States this fall – benefits from a more dynamic design and additional standard equipment on all but its entry-level model. All UK-bound Yaris models, ‘cept for the T2 base version, feature a new Toyota “affordable multimedia connectivity” system called Touch and Go. Over in the UK, the Yaris is offered in four trims: T2, TR, SR and T Spirit. Toyota says the “heart of the range” is the mid-level TR, which is expected to command two thirds of sales. The TR can be ordered up with any of the three available engines (1.0-liter VVT-i, 1.3-liter Dual VVT-i and 1.4-liter D-4D) and a choice of three transmissions (five-speed manual, six-speed manual and Toyota’s Multidrive S CVT) in both three and five-door bodystyles. Key features of the TR include 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, stability control, Bluetooth and a rear-mounted parking camera. The three available engines start with the base 1.0-liter VVT-i gasser with 68 horsepower. Moving up, there’s the 1.33-liter Dual VVT-i gasoline engine with 98 hp. Finally, the 1.4-liter D-4D diesel engine cranks out 89 hp and 151 pound-feet of torque.
