2013 Toyota RAV4 teased ahead of LA debut

Filed under: LA Auto Show , Videos , Crossover , Toyota We’ll get our first glimpse of the all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a couple of weeks (unless the new crossover falls victim to a case of internet leakage), and to keep our interest piqued, Toyota has released this brief teaser video for its new small CUV. There really isn’t a whole lot to be seen in the video, save a few quick glimpses of the new car including the headlight/grille shot you see above. To hear Toyota tell it, the 2013 RAV4 is “a new generation rewriting the rules of style, embodying sophistication and strength – a dynamism that adapts to the changing pace of life.” Whatever that means. We’ve spied the 2013 RAV4 on a couple of occasions now, and even in its heavily camouflaged state, we can see that its design will indeed follow that of the 2012 Camry . As for other details surrounding the new model, we don’t have anything concrete. Powertrains are expected to be of the four-cylinder variety (including a possible hybrid), and new technology like Toyota’s Entune system will likely be worked into the redesigned interior. Stay tuned for the full details at the end of November, and scroll down to watch the 40-second teaser video for yourself. Toyota teases all-new Avalon ahead of New York debut

Toyota teases all-new Avalon ahead of New York debut

Filed under: New York Auto Show , Sedan , Toyota , Design/Style , Luxury Toyota has just released a teaser image of what it says is an all-new, designed-in-America sedan that will debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show next week. It isn’t immediately clear if the vehicle will be a concept or production car, but Toyota has issued no showcar qualifiers, suggesting it’s something that will be in dealers soon. Described as having “an elegant yet athletic look,” the teased rear end most likely belongs to the next-generation Avalon full-size sedan. While we can’t be sure until the wraps are removed in New York, the Avalon is our best guess based on descriptions of the redesigned Avalon from Toyota dealers who were shown it last year in June. The dealers drew comparisons between the redesigned Avalon and upscale cars like the Audi A7 and Jaguar XJ , suggesting it will transition from a traditional sedan to a four-door coupe shape. The teaser image provided today by Toyota supports this, showing a severely sloped C-pillar and little-to-no rear deck. And while the cut lines for the trunk aren’t visible in this rendering, we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a hatch. Toyota’s new sedan, whatever it is, will makes its worldwide debut on April 5 at the New York Auto Show. We’ll be there covering it live, so keep your computer tuned to Autoblog for more. Filed under: Car Buying , Sedan , Toyota We’ve just given you our first impressions of the redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry . Now, Toyota is ready to give you pricing, and it’s good news if you’re in the market for this mid-size mainstay. Pricing stays the same for some of the 2012 trims, while it’s actually gone down for a few others. The 2012 Camry family hierarchy shakes out with the base-model L before moving up to the LE, XLE and SE trims. The Camry Hybrid is only available in LE or XLE guise. Pricing for the 2012 Camry L starts at $21,995. If you want to move up to the LE, you only need $545 more for a total of $22,500, which is about $200 less than the 2011 LE. Another $500 brings you to the four-cylinder-equipped Camry SE, which costs $23,000 and is priced $965 lower than the 2011 model it replaces. The V6 SE will cost $26,400, which is consistent with 2011 pricing. In the market for the top-shelf XLE?

Filed under: Truck , Toyota It’s almost time for us to get our eyeballs on the full monty that is the redesigned 2012 Toyota Tacoma . Waiting stinks, though, doesn’t it? After all, this is the give-it-to-me-now Internet era, a mindset that applies to everything from music and movies to photos of next-generation automobiles. The Toyota Tacoma is no different, and unofficial images of the updated pickup have found their way to the web. We think. Our friend Mike Levine at PickupTrucks.com stumbled across a video of what looks to be an upcoming Tacoma commercial sans graphics. Toyota has yet to confirm what we’re looking at in the clip, which you can view for yourself h ere , but you can check it out in our gallery of stills. Regardless, the official images should arrive soon, since the 2012 Tacoma is slated to hit dealer lots by October. 2012 Toyota Tacoma leaked in promo footage? originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 17 Aug 2011 15:30:00 EST.

2012 Toyota Camry closer to revealing new look

Filed under: Spy Photos , Sedan , Toyota Toyota says big things are in store for the redesigned 2012 Camry , and the vehicle is nearly ready to show its face to the world. The mid-sized sedan isn’t quite ready yet, however, and our spy photographers have captured the camo-wearing four-doors making their way around the desert. We’ve been promised a more dynamic looking Camry the next time out, and the angles cut around the nose look sharper than recent generations. Still, it’s just speculation at this point, because that camouflage is doing a pretty good job of hiding what lies beneath. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to see the updated sedan, as it’s slated to hit dealer lots this fall. 2012 Toyota Camry closer to revealing new look originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 26 Jul 2011 11:30:00 EST.
